Have you already reached the Traditional Czech Gingerbreads recipe while browsing our magazine? Do you want to prepare them? If you need more inspiration, just visit the gingerbread nativity scene in the small church of sv.Matěj (Saint Matthew) in Prague 6 /the opening hours until February,2 2014 you will find here/.
The tradition of displaying the gingerbread nativity scene here is more than 30 years old and is very well-known among the residents. For instance, our editor-in-chief Adela, who lives very close to the church, never miss the smell of gingerbread in the church. The whole native scene consists of more than 300 hand-decorated fresh gingerbread figures. Besides, every figure represents one folk costume from one part of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The Christmas crib is annually made by Daniel Zítek.
Let's visit the church, smell the gingerbread and bow down to the baby Jesus!
