We were super excited when Staged Design Exhibition wanted to partner up with us in Dresden this year, and couldn’t miss an opportunity to return to the beautiful city. It‘s true that you don‘t normally imagine visiting Dresden straight after Christmas but prior to the festivities when the city is electric with its famous Christmas market and warm and lovely atmosphere. So off we went merrily to set up at the exhibition curious what we would come across.
In case you are not familiar, Staged is a cross the border show and exhibit showcasing upcoming design and innovative products, from young students and graduates from the two neighbouring countries, Czech Republic and Germany.
The annual Staged Design Award is a great indication of who they think is leading design and innovation which has previously included some great Czech designs. (for full list please check here) And this year’s winner did not disappoint with the wooden timber bicycle made by Niko Shmutz taking first prize. The bicycle is a beautifully crafted product and we were lucky enough to have our stand right by the winner, so we spent all 3 days understating and admiring its ins and outs of design and craftsmanship. We hope you enjoy the photos and they entice you to consider not only visiting Dresden but maybe coming by to see us at next years Staged Design Exhibition.
