Whenever I visit bigger city, I want to bring back something as a present or a reminder of the trip…. But later, I realize that it’s almost impossible to find a nice souvenir that has the spirit of the city. Of course, searching for a present is even more stressful. Souvenirs can be quite expensive, yet they often look cheap and end up being poor quality. The fact that souvenirs tend to be overpriced makes this task very difficult. Surprisingly, shops with nicely designed souvenirs do exist. In Prague, one of these special places is called Pragtique. Pragtique sells souvenirs that are a unique reminder of Prague. Each Pragtique item tells a story about Prague with flair and ease, and not only tourists shop here. Pragtique supports everything local, so it’s not unusual to find ware by Daniela Olejníková, Tomski&Polanski, Vendula Chalánková and more…
For the 260-year anniversary of the birth of Mozart, Vendula Chalánková and Ondřej Horák made an amazing Prague guidebook called W. A. Mozart in Prague. Vendula Chalánková created a complete set of drawings for this topic, in addition to the book illustrations.
The name of the shop alone, Pragtique, describes its uniqueness. The space is also very quiet, minimalist and welcoming. The whole concept of the shop is marvelous and special to Prague. The store is located in the Platýz Passage, which is close to city centre. In other words, there is no reason not to visit Pragtique while roaming the streets of Prague.
