Design Tendence 2018
Eight weeks before Christmas is just the right time to start thinking about decorations and gifts, but the 20,000 visitors of Tendence Design Fair in Frankfurt have been in the clear since the end of June and July.
The Tendence trade fair is primarily a meeting point for European traders to present trends in home furnishings, as well as gifts and decorations for the upcoming Christmas season and for the spring of next year.
Our stylist and interior designer Janka Murínova has prepared a short gallery of what she found most interesting. Here’s what she has to say about the trade fair: "There was no concrete trend, rather circles in which everyone finds their own. Rich colours are coming in (similarly to Milan this year), and instead of lonely exposed objects, the interiors, including painted walls and wallpapers, can be seen in complete detail. And the pelicans alternate the lamas."
Were you able to trace any tendencies in residential design for the year 2019?
"Mixed things, a lot of habitable interiors, a retreat from minimalism. Even the brand, which is characterized by pure style, suddenly incorporated a black parrot into the interior. Just paint a wall a different colour or change some accessories - and you live in a new space." says Janka.
Tendence featured four brands from the Czech Republic, which were selected in the Talents section. Congratulations to Linda Kaplanová and Klára Spišková, who return textiles to the interior under the brand Geometr, Anne Štěpánková and Tereza Rosalia Kladošová, who brought a collection of hand-woven rugs Chopit, Julie Chrpová, who presented wooden skittles not only for children, and Veronica Watzková and Stanislav Holý, for presenting Bon jewelry boxes under the design Vessels design.
The next edition of the Tendence Fair in Frankfurt am Main is held from 29 June to 1 July 2019.
